April 12 1999, Marilyn and Ross, two disabled Golden Eagles, hatched two
eaglets. Just as in nature only the strongest eaglet survives, this little eaglet survived and is doing fine, it's strong and growing fast. The eaglet is almost 7 weeks old as of June 3, 1999. Peter Dubacher has a remote control video camera above the nest, where he can watch and record all of their movements. from his office without disturbing the birds. Marilyn was hit by a truck 2 years age while picking road kill, she survived but will never fly as her wing is badly damaged.

This Golden Eaglet was named after Dorothy Laws, of Adams, Massachusetts. A wonderful person who has been a volunteer and supporter of Berkshire Bird Paradise for over 20 years. Thank you Dottie. | |

We have recorded over 20 hours of Hi8 video tape, in black and white, from the laying of the eggs to the hatching and the rearing of the chick. next year we would like to get a color video camera with sound. We are trying to get into video to show our program better, if anyone has some oder equiptment to donate, that would be great. | |

Dottie and her family will be moved to a hacking facility. A 20,000 sq ft area where Dottie can leave natually when she is ready. When she was released she stayed in the area for many months, |

Peter is constantly collecting fresh road kill, as this is what eagles eat in the wild. and is also an very inexpensive way of getting fresh natural meat for his birds. And the animal is not going to waste |
